ABOUT

HELLO!

My name is Lucy C. Smith. I am a Tasmanian freelance illustrator, an animal lover and full time tea drinker. I love stories, fairy tales and myths of all kinds – the more magical and adventurous, the better. When I’m not drawing, you will find me wandering in the bush.

MY WORK

I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania in 2020. I create work both traditionally (watercolour, gouache, charcoal, pencil) and digitally. The theme I hope all of my work will embody in some capacity is empathy. This I believe is the greatest skill we can teach. I want to inspire others to feel the connection we all have with the natural world around us and the connection we have with each other.

CHARITY WORK

It brings me a lot of joy to help others with my art which is why I have often donated a percentage of my artworks’ profits to various charities including: the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, Brightside Farm Sanctuary and my ongoing donations to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary through my ‘Tassie Critter Stickers’. I hope to continue working with charities in the future.
