JUST IN CASE

As a child, I loved visiting the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. I loved learning about the many interesting and old things which they held on display. One specimen in particular has always remained vivid in my memory. This specimen was a Thylacine pup preserved in a jar. This young pup, still with its eyes closed, was the closest I could come to seeing a real, flesh and blood Thylacine. I thought it so sad that the only way I could see this poor creature was preserved in death. That its life had barely started before it was over.

This memory pushed me to create a new way for that young Thylacine to be preserved within its specimen jar. My jar holds within it a vast haven for the Thylacine to roam. It is a place to protect it from the dangers of disease, humans and even mortality; just in case these threats try to claim it. It will be safe, and just in case we grow to one day live alongside our wildlife instead of in competition with them, the jar may be opened.
